I bring a powerful combination of communications credentials as a national award-winning ABC News editor and dynamic educator to build happier, more impactful leaders and teams. My focus on interpersonal skills, leadership presence, and emotional intelligence increases agility, self-management, and confidence while strengthening employee engagement and productivity throughout organizations.

In many ways, I’ve spent my entire career coaching people. First, as a reporter and editor to get the best out of newsmakers. And then as a professional trainer and university professor coaching staff and students to reach their highest potential.

My background draws from the different business worlds of corporate news, where I learned to navigate high-stakes negotiations in a network newsroom with demanding deadlines, and higher education, as a communications professor at different New York City universities. I taught Broadcast News at The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and Communications and Writing at Fordham University. Each institution had different organizational structures, cultures, and academic politics. I train professionals in business and creative writing as well as individual development, such as Building Resilience and Effective Communications in the Workplace.

As a journalist, I learned to interview and connect with diverse people from around the world. It’s allowed me to positively impact clients ranging from students at City University of New York (CUNY) Colleges to C-Suite leaders and directors at different Fortune 100 and 500 Companies.

My first executive and organizational coaching engagement was at the Black Male Empowerment Center at a CUNY College. The Center’s director, impressed by my leadership workshops, then hired me to be his executive and organizational coach. The engagement delivered such positive business outcomes that I was also hired by the college vice president to coach her on leadership skills and develop her team of reports.

I’m a dedicated life-long learner and have the PCC certification through the International Coaching Federation, the Executive and Organizational Coaching Certification from Columbia University, as well as the Post Master’s Certificate in Organization Development from The New School’s Milano School of Management.
